VariSun Systems Presented at Spring Conferences

Scientific Community Recognizes the Value of Greener Cleanups

Alameda— February 1, 2019This spring, hundreds of environmental professionals will be converging at several conferences, including the West Coast Conference in San Diego and the Battelle Bioremediation Symposium in Maryland. There will be several presentations that will include our VariSun Direct Solar Vapor Extraction System. The VariSun system allows for the operation of any three-phase motor with direct solar power and have proved successful out in the field.  Several case studies will be highlighting their success. We are proud to have developed efficient solutions that minimize the carbon footprint of a project while maximizing project operations.

The 29th Annual International Conference on Soil, Water, Energy, and Air is hosted annually by the AEHS Foundation. In March of this year it will be presented in San Diego. Robert Rebel, P.E. and Senior Engineer of LT Environmental, will be conducting a panel presentation on “Sustainable Solar Powered SVE Remediation of Former and Gas Production Pits.”  Our solar powered SVE system proved effective for their project in the remote oil fields of Colorado.

In Maryland, Battelle will be kicking off its 5th International Symposium on Bioremediation in April. Daniel Brown, P.E., of Jacobs Engineering, will be presenting “Incorporating Sustainability Considerations and Remediation Projects,” sharing the ways that the VariSun Direct Solar Vapor Extraction Systems reduced the environmental impact of the cleanup effort at their site in North Carolina. The VS SVE06 Solar Powered Soil Vapor Extraction System was a good choice for them because bringing power to the site was not practical. The off-grid VariSun system made the remediation project quicker and easier to deploy.

Betsy Collins, an expert in Green Remediation with Jacobs Engineering, will be discussing “Two Innovative Approaches to Implementing Green and Sustainable Remediation (GSR) Best Management Practices (BMPs) per ASTM E2893-16.”  Sustainable Technologies designed and manufactured the Solar Powered Remediation System that Jacobs is using in their project, a ground-mounted off-grid system that survived hurricane conditions at Camp LeJeune.

We are pleased that our green remediation products are helping our customers achieve their remediation and sustainability goals. By combining decades of experience in the renewable energy and remediation industry we have developed effective environmental solutions at a reasonable cost, and the word is getting out.
